A Heartfelt and Lasting Tribute to Tess Harris

It was with much shock and deep sadness that the passing of Tess Harris, our beloved friend, colleague and president was announced on March 1st 2024.
Tess was an extraordinarily enthusiastic person who touched the lives of so many people including PKD patients, children, families, teachers, researchers, clinicians, advocates and health leaders. Her tireless work and dedication to spreading awareness and advancement through knowledge and collaboration marked her out as a unique driving force. She carried this through with enormous energy, empathy and innovation.
She was also a lot of fun – with a ready smile and wry wit. Her networking powers were second to none as she was fearless and confident in the ethical clarity of her mission. How could you not agree that PKD is important, that therapies are feasible and that patient input is essential? Her
As a trustee of PKD Charity UK since 2004 and its CEO since 2012 and President of PKD International since 2011, Tess was an inspirational leader, bringing national and international groups together for a common purpose.
She will be missed so very much, but her legacy will endure and be upheld in memory of her lifelong dedication and numerous achievements.
